The $64 million dollar question – is the recession over? According to the National Bureau of Economic Research the recession was over in June 2009. Do you think the people out of work believe that? Or those living paycheck-to-paycheck. Here are four signs that indicate when the recession is really over!
When you get hires for a job with benefits. Cash strapped companies save money by offering freelance or temp job with no benefits. When things are improving they start offering benefits.
Another sign that the recession is over – you are no longer living with your parents. Experts say that more than 14 million adult children live at home and nearly one in two adults that graduated from college FOUR years ago still live at home.
A third sign is that more couples will get divorced. Divorce is financially devastating and the housing market collapsed, couples cannot afford to get divorced. Once the economy picks up so will divorce.
And, the final sign is that your house will sell for MORE than you paid for it. Even though the interest rates are low, the housing market is still in the dumps. Demand for loans are at a 13 year low. Since the unemployment rate and housing market are directly correlated, when the unemployment rate drops, home prices shoot up.
