There is buzz around about Washington’s efforts to get us free credit scores. Senator Mark Udall is sponsoring the bill and if it passes the scores provided for free will be the fake scores.
The only credit scores that matters are the ones that lenders use to make a lending decision. FICO will not provide them for free – why? This is a $50 million per year business revenue stream. TransUnion and Experian will gladly provide the scores but these are not the real scores!
